Answers to Your Questions About Facet Block Injections in Financial District, NY

Are you considering a facet block injection for pain relief in Financial District, NY? At NY Spine Medicine, we understand how chronic pain can affect your daily life. That’s why we’re here to provide you with the most effective treatments available. Below, we answer the top questions about facet block injections so that you make an informed decision.

What is a Facet Block Injection?

A facet block injection is a minimally invasive procedure used to diagnose and treat pain originating from the facet joints in your spine. These joints are located at the back of your spine and can cause significant discomfort if inflamed or irritated. At NY Spine Medicine, our skilled professionals use this procedure to help patients in Financial District, NY, find relief from chronic pain.

How Can a Facet Block Injection Help with Pain Relief?

Facet block injections are primarily used for pain relief. By injecting a local anesthetic and steroid medication directly into the facet joints, we can reduce inflammation and block pain signals from reaching the brain. This procedure is effective for various types of pain, including back pain and neck pain. Whether you’re dealing with lumbar facet block injection or need relief from neck pain, our team at NY Spine Medicine is here to help.

What is the Procedure for a Facet Block Injection?

The facet block injection procedure is straightforward and typically takes about 30 minutes. During the procedure, you will lie on your stomach or back, depending on the location of your pain. Our experienced practitioners at NY Spine Medicine will use fluoroscopy (a type of X-ray) to guide a thin needle to the affected facet joint. Once the needle is in place, a small amount of anesthetic and steroid medication is injected. This process is designed to be as comfortable as possible for patients in Financial District, NY.

Is a Facet Block Injection Suitable for Back Pain?

Yes, a facet block injection for back pain is a common and effective treatment. If you suffer from chronic back pain that hasn’t responded to other treatments, a facet block injection might be the solution you need. Our team at NY Spine Medicine has successfully performed this procedure on many patients in Financial District, NY, helping them regain their quality of life.

What Should I Expect After the Procedure?

After a facet block injection, you may experience immediate pain relief, but it can take a few days for the full effects to be felt. Some patients in Financial District, NY, report significant pain reduction that lasts for several weeks or even months. It’s important to follow the aftercare instructions provided by our team at NY Spine Medicine to ensure the best possible outcome. Have a question?

What is now the Financial District was once part of New Amsterdam, situated on the strategic southern tip of the island of Manhattan. New Amsterdam was derived from Fort Amsterdam, meant to defend the fur trade operations of the Dutch West India Company in the North River (Hudson River). In 1624, it became a provincial extension of the Dutch Republic and was designated as the capital of the province of New Netherland in 1625. By 1655, the population of New Netherland had grown to 2,000 people, with 1,500 living in New Amsterdam. By 1664, the population of New Netherland had skyrocketed to almost 9,000 people, 2,500 of whom lived in New Amsterdam, 1,000 lived near Fort Orange, and the remainder in other towns and villages. In 1664 the English took over New Amsterdam and renamed it New York City.

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the corporate culture of New York was a primary center for the construction of early skyscrapers, and was rivaled only by Chicago on the American continent. There were also residential sections, such as the Bowling Green section between Broadway and the Hudson River, and between Vesey Street and the Battery. The Bowling Green area was described as “Wall Street’s back yard” with poor people, high infant mortality rates, and the “worst housing conditions in the city”. As a result of the construction, looking at New York City from the east, one can see two distinct clumps of tall buildings-the Financial District on the left, and the taller Midtown neighborhood on the right. The geology of Manhattan is well-suited for tall buildings, with a solid mass of bedrock underneath Manhattan providing a firm foundation for tall buildings. Skyscrapers are expensive to build, but the scarcity of land in the Financial District made it suitable for the construction of skyscrapers.

Business writer John Brooks in his book Once in Golconda considered the start of the 20th century period to have been the area’s heyday. The address of 23 Wall Street, the headquarters of J. P. Morgan & Company, known as The Corner, was “the precise center, geographical as well as metaphorical, of financial America and even of the financial world”.
