Answers to Your Questions About Facet Block Injections in Garment District, NY

Are you considering a facet block injection for pain relief in Garment District, NY? At NY Spine Medicine, we understand how chronic pain can affect your daily life. That’s why we’re here to provide you with the most effective treatments available. Below, we answer the top questions about facet block injections so that you make an informed decision.

What is a Facet Block Injection?

A facet block injection is a minimally invasive procedure used to diagnose and treat pain originating from the facet joints in your spine. These joints are located at the back of your spine and can cause significant discomfort if inflamed or irritated. At NY Spine Medicine, our skilled professionals use this procedure to help patients in Garment District, NY, find relief from chronic pain.

How Can a Facet Block Injection Help with Pain Relief?

Facet block injections are primarily used for pain relief. By injecting a local anesthetic and steroid medication directly into the facet joints, we can reduce inflammation and block pain signals from reaching the brain. This procedure is effective for various types of pain, including back pain and neck pain. Whether you’re dealing with lumbar facet block injection or need relief from neck pain, our team at NY Spine Medicine is here to help.

What is the Procedure for a Facet Block Injection?

The facet block injection procedure is straightforward and typically takes about 30 minutes. During the procedure, you will lie on your stomach or back, depending on the location of your pain. Our experienced practitioners at NY Spine Medicine will use fluoroscopy (a type of X-ray) to guide a thin needle to the affected facet joint. Once the needle is in place, a small amount of anesthetic and steroid medication is injected. This process is designed to be as comfortable as possible for patients in Garment District, NY.

Is a Facet Block Injection Suitable for Back Pain?

Yes, a facet block injection for back pain is a common and effective treatment. If you suffer from chronic back pain that hasn’t responded to other treatments, a facet block injection might be the solution you need. Our team at NY Spine Medicine has successfully performed this procedure on many patients in Garment District, NY, helping them regain their quality of life.

What Should I Expect After the Procedure?

After a facet block injection, you may experience immediate pain relief, but it can take a few days for the full effects to be felt. Some patients in Garment District, NY, report significant pain reduction that lasts for several weeks or even months. It’s important to follow the aftercare instructions provided by our team at NY Spine Medicine to ensure the best possible outcome. Have a question?

New York City first assumed its role as the center of the nation’s garment industry by producing clothes for slaves working on Southern plantations. It was more efficient for their masters to buy clothes from producers in New York City than to have the slaves spend time and labor making the clothing themselves. In addition to supplying clothing for slaves, tailors produced other ready-made garments for sailors and western prospectors during slack periods in their regular business.

Prior to the mid-18th century, the majority of Americans either made their own clothing, or if they were wealthy, purchased “tailor-made” customized clothing. By the 1820s, however, an increasing number of ready-made garments of a higher quality were being produced for a broader market. The production of ready-made clothing, which continued to grow, completed its transformation to an “industrialized” profession with the invention of the sewing machine in the 1850s. The need for thousands of ready-made soldiers’ uniforms during the American Civil War helped the garment industry to expand further.

Women were the main workforce before 1840. However, by 1880 men took most of the skilled positions previously held by women due to the massive migration of Jewish men from Poland and Russia. Many of them were tailors that adapted to machine production. German and Central European immigrants to America around the mid-19th century arrived on the scene with relevant business experience and skills just as garment production was passing from a proto-industrial phase to a more advanced stage of manufacture. In the early twentieth-century a largely Eastern European immigrant workforce powered the garment trades. Russian Jews recruited workers from their hometowns and broke the production into tasks able to do by less-skilled workers. Writing in 1917, Abraham Cahan credited these immigrants with the creation of American style:
