Enhance Your Recovery with Spinal Cord Stimulation for Pain Relief in Hunters Point, NY

If you are struggling with chronic pain, discovering effective solutions is crucial for improving your quality of life. At NY Spine Medicine, we specialize in advanced treatments to help you manage and alleviate pain. One such innovative approach is spinal cord stimulation. Here are five ways spinal cord stimulation can transform your pain recovery journey in Hunters Point, NY.

Targeted Pain Relief

Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) is an effective therapy for chronic pain management. Unlike traditional pain relief methods, spinal cord stimulation therapy targets the pain signals directly at the spinal cord level. This precision allows for more effective and immediate relief, particularly beneficial for those suffering from persistent back pain. By disrupting the pain signals before they reach the brain, SCS provides substantial relief, allowing patients in Hunters Point, NY, to lead more comfortable lives.

Minimally Invasive Treatment

Spinal cord stimulation treatment is minimally invasive, making it a suitable option for many patients who might not be candidates for more invasive surgeries. The procedure involves implanting a small device under the skin, which sends electrical pulses to the spinal cord. This simplicity means shorter recovery times and fewer risks compared to traditional surgical procedures. At NY Spine Medicine, our spinal cord stimulation specialists ensure the procedure is carried out with the highest level of care and precision.

Customized Pain Management

Every patient’s pain experience is unique, and their treatment should be, too. Spinal cord stimulation for pain relief offers customizable settings, allowing patients to adjust the intensity and area of stimulation according to their needs. This flexibility is particularly useful for managing fluctuating pain levels, ensuring that you can maintain control over your pain management journey. Our team at NY Spine Medicine is dedicated to tailoring spinal cord stimulation treatments to suit each individual’s specific condition and lifestyle in Hunters Point, NY.

Improved Quality of Life

One of the significant spinal cord stimulator benefits is the overall improvement in the quality of life. By effectively reducing chronic pain, patients can enjoy a more active and fulfilling life. Activities that were once hindered by pain can become possible again. Whether it’s spending time with family, engaging in hobbies, or returning to work, spinal cord stimulation can make a profound difference. Our mission at NY Spine Medicine is to help the residents of Hunters Point, NY, reclaim their lives from chronic pain.

Long Island City was incorporated as a city on May 4, 1870, from the merging of the village of Astoria and the hamlets of Ravenswood, Hunters Point, Blissville, Sunnyside, Dutch Kills, Steinway, Bowery Bay and Middleton in the Town of Newtown. At the time of its incorporation, Long Island City had between 12,000 and 15,000 residents. Its charter provided for an elected mayor and a ten-member Board of Aldermen with two representing each of the city’s five wards. City ordinances could be passed by a majority vote of the Board of Aldermen and the mayor’s signature.

Long Island City held its first election on July 5, 1870. Residents elected A.D. Ditmars the first mayor; Ditmars ran as both a Democrat and a Republican. The first elected Board of Aldermen was H. Rudolph and Patrick Lonirgan (Ward 1); Francis McNena and William E. Bragaw (Ward 2); George Hunter and Mr. Williams (Third Ward); James R. Bennett and John Wegart (Ward Four); and E.M. Hartshort and William Carlin (Fifth Ward). The mayor and the aldermen were inaugurated on July 18, 1870.

In the 1880s, Mayor De Bevoise nearly bankrupted the Long Island City government by embezzlement, of which he was convicted. Many dissatisfied residents of Astoria circulated a petition to ask the New York State Legislature to allow it to secede from Long Island City and reincorporate as the Village of Astoria, as it existed prior to the incorporation of Long Island City, in 1884. The petition was ultimately dropped by the citizens.
